🔋 Volkswagen is gearing up to launch eight affordable electric vehicles by 2027, according to CEO Thomas Schåfer. Speaking with Auto Motor und Sport (via Reuters), Schåfer emphasized the importance of profitability and affordability, stating, “We have to produce our vehicles profitably and put them on the road at affordable prices.”

🗓  Among the upcoming EVs is the ID.2, set for a 2025 release, with development being accelerated to just 36 months.

💵  VW previewed this model with the ID.2all concept, targeting a price of $26,500. There are also plans for an even cheaper model, priced around $22,000.

👀 With 25 all-electric models expected in the U.S. by 2030, the Volkswagen Group is pushing for mass-market electrification. Stay tuned!
