Ford’s Dealer Opt-In Decisions
Is it wise for dealers to spend $500K- $1 million to get in on the ground floor of their Ford e Program Or wait until next opt-in in 2027.
Of Ford’s 3,000 dealerships, almost 2K opted in for the Ford e Program which allows dealerships to decide if they want to be certified & receive training, charging stations and the ability to service and sell EVs.
Jim Farley, Ford’s CEO, said roughly 80% of those dealers chose “Elite” option which costs upward of $900K and allows more EVs to sell.
Ford allowed their dealerships the option to become “EV Certified” with 2 options to choose.
1. Elite Tier (approx. $1 Million) Includes:
* EV Certified
* Education/ Training
* Presence on Ford.Com
* 2 DC Fast Chargers
* Demo Models
* Quick replenishment
* Ability to Service
2. Tier 2 approximately $500K Includes:
* EV Certified
* Education/ Training
* Ability to service and maintain
* 1 DC fast charger
*Does not include any floor models/demos
*Limited Supply
*No promotion on Ford.com
**Ford is the 2nd best EV selling brand and they just built their 150,000th Mach-E.
