The Future of EV Sales: Dealer Franchises vs. Online OR Both?
Car Dealers Dealerships Online Sales
The way we buy cars is changing, and the EV market is leading the way. Some manufacturers are into direct sales, bypassing traditional dealer franchises. 🚗
There are pros and cons to both approaches and one that’s mixed.
🏢 Dealerships offer convenience and the ability to test drive vehicles in person, but could also add extra costs.
💻 Direct sales can be more efficient and lead to lower prices, but they may not offer the same level of customer service.
🤝 Another example is the Amazon/Hyundai partnership “hybrid” approach -by simultaneously offering the convenience of online sales and the personal dealership participation. The collab shows how the future of car sales might evolve. By partnering with Amazon, Hyundai can provide a simple online car-buying experience. You pay for your vehicle on Amazon, and the dealership completes the process.
The near future might be that combo of both convenience & customer service simultaneously. They whole vehicle experience is shifting, but change doesn’t happen overnight.
What do you think the future holds for EV sales?
- A mix of direct and dealer sales: 🤝 The hybrid approach.
- Direct sales: 💯 This is possible if buyers are willing to give up the in-person experience.
- Dealerships: 👨🏼🦳 Dealerships still offer advantages, like post- sale services.
The future of EV sales might be a mix of both direct and dealer sales as the landscape continues to shift. 🤝
