Chinese EVs are getting cheaper, faster, and better, and they’re going to begin flooding the US and European markets. Our OEM giants don’t want to get left in the dust!

There are a few OEMs that are or are considering teaming up on some projects to enhance the Electric Vehicle transition and become profitable.

Here are a few things brewing:
🚗 Ford, as well as GM, want to cut costs by potentially teaming up with other competitors with tech and maybe even batteries ️‍

🚙 VW & Mahindra deepen their partnership supplying key components for Mahindra’s new electric platform.

🔌This group of 7: BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis have a joint venture to build IONNA, a High-Powered EV Charging Network in North America

Here are some more details:
🚘 GM says they’ll break even on EVs this year if production goals are met and continued benefit from government incentives.

🚗 Ford’s got a tough road ahead, losing billions on EVs and needing new, profitable models ASAP. They are working on “skunk works”, a smaller, more affordable EV that will hopefully make it to market.

🔋 The VW deal strengthens their presence in the Indian EV market and marks a step towards wider collaboration.

🔌 The infrastructure collaboration will start US rollout in 2024, then Canada, with plans for a minimum of 30,000 chargers. They’ll be fitted for NACS or CCS connectors. IONNA will be powered by renewable energy and will include various amenities.

👀 Who saw this coming? One thing’s for sure -the future of cars is electric and this is just the beginning of a global showdown.

Go electric ✌️
