🥶 Be Aware that you will lose range in the cold weather. DO NOT be surprised! Lower battery performance and greater energy consumption seriously affect your range.
❄️🪫 In the cold, your battery takes longer to charge, takes more energy to use and is also affected by driving habits. According to a recent RECURRENT report, freezing temps could lower the range by 16-46%, depending on year, make, model.Plan your trip accordingly.

Here Are 7 Helpful Tips

1. Set up PRE-CONDITIONING if possible to get battery ready to accept charge. ⚡️

2. Keep PLUGGED IN while warming the vehicle.🔌

3. Keep the heat low and use HEATED SEATS and HEATED STEERING WHEEL if possible. 💺🌡️

4. Use WINTER TIRES if possible and keep tires inflated to the manufacturer specs. ❄️ 🛞

5. Set NAVIGATION and map out your route for charging stops along the way. Expect LONGER CHARGING TIMES when the battery is cold. 🗺️

6. Consider a vehicle with a HEAT PUMP. These help to preserve range and can help speed up charging. It also optimizes energy consumption in all weather. ❄️🌡️

7.  It’s always a good idea to keep emergency supplies on hand- like blankets, water and an ice scraper. Make sure to dress warmly and ensure that your phone is charged before heading out. ❄️📱🧥

Go electric ✌🏼

✅ Another positive of EVs, if stuck in snow, you don’t have to worry about the exhaust getting blocked and carbon monoxide being directed back into the cabin. 😉
