My friend is looking for info on getting incentives in Florida for Level 2 (240-volt) residential home charging station.
It’s not an easy task to shuffle through all of the regulations, but I advised her that there are possible incentives, rebates and tax credits available.

Here are 2 ways I found in Jax, Florida to help reduce the cost for a home charging station:

  1. Federal incentives: Rebate up to $1000
The federal government program offers a 30% tax credit of up to $1,000 for the cost of a both the level 2 station equipment and  installation feesTo qualify for the tax credit, you need to:
    *Purchase and install the charger.
*Keep all of your receipts and documentation.
*When you file your taxes, be sure to include Form 8911, https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8911.pdf
*Provide total cost  of the charger and installation on Form 8911.
    * More information here for Federal Rebates: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-8911
  2. Local Utility Rebates:- Rebate up to $300
*Florida Utility Company, JEA offers a rebate of up to $300.00 for upgrading the home electrical system to support an EV Charging Station. To qualify for a rebate, you may need to:
    * Be a resident of Florida.
    * Be a customer of the utility company or organization that is offering the rebate.
    * Purchase and install a qualified level 2 EV charger
    * Submit a completed application and proof of purchase to the utility company or organization.
