2023 is shaping up to be a record-breaking year for EVs in the U.S., with sales expected to hit a whopping 1.3-1.4 million units – the highest ever for these electricmarvels. * Note- these figures only include fully electric vehicles and not hybrids! Cox Automotive, who follows auto sales in the US closely shared their estimate. 🙌🏻

🤔 How we got to 1 million units sold:

✅ As of 2023, there are 95 different EV models available, offering something for everyone from budget-conscious buyers to luxury car lovers.
✅ Tax Breaks and Incentives: Thanks to the Clean Vehicle Tax Incentive- buying an EV is now more affordable than ever. These sweet tax credits are making electric dreams come true for many Americans.
✅ Prices are Finally Dropping: As the EV market matures, it will lead to a gradual decrease in prices.

🌊 The landscape is still heating up! Here are some of the manufacturers making waves:

📐Tesla: The Cybertruck has an angular, stainless-steel design and futuristic features, and promises to redefine the pickup truck experience.
🛻 Ford: The iconic F-150 Lightning has become a symbol of American innovation in the EV space, with record-breaking sales and a loyal fanbase. (But have announced  50% reduction in production in 2024 😖)
🚙 Hyundai & Kia: These Korean powerhouses are offering a range of affordable and stylish EVs, proving that you don’t need a hefty price tag to join the electric revolution. Their design teams are hitting it out of the park! ⚾️
🛻 Rivian: This startup with its sleek and powerful electric truck and SUV, offers a glimpse into the future of off-road adventures.

☀️ But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. 🌈 There are still some hurdles on the road to EV domination:

💵 The Price Tag: EVs still carry a higher initial cost compared to gas-powered vehicles. However, when you factor in lower fuel and maintenance costs, the long-term savings can be significant.
🔌 Charging Infrastructure: While the number of charging stations is increasing, we still need more to make long-distance travel in EVs a breeze.
📗 Knowledge is Power: Many consumers still lack information about EVs, their benefits, and how to operate them. We need to spread the word and educate people about the benefits of going electric.

❓ So, what does this mean for the future? The EV market is only going to get bigger and better. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming down the road:

🙋🏻‍♀️ EVs for Everyone: As technology improves and production scales up, EVs will become more affordable, making them accessible to a wider audience. Get ready to see electric cars in every driveway!
💵 Used EV market will be expanding exponentially as the EV transition charges on, resulting in more affordable options.
🔋 Charging Stations Everywhere: Governments and private companies are investing heavily in expanding the charging infrastructure, ensuring you can easily juice-up no matter where you roam.
🌱 Sustainability is Key: With the growing focus on environmental responsibility, EVs are becoming the preferred choice for eco-conscious consumers.

👨🏻‍🔧 For all the service providers out there, take note: the future is electric, and you need to be ready! Here’s how you can stay ahead of the curve:

📗 Ensure that your sales teams are knowledgable about EVs.
❗️ UPDATE your websites to reflect the changing landscape of the EV Information that is imperative to making an informed decision.  (Get rid of your “fresh oil change” templates!)
👨🏻‍🔧 Get your technicians trained: Equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to service and repair EVs safely and effectively.
🛠 Invest in the right tools: Make sure you have the necessary equipment and software to handle EV maintenance.
📗 Educate your customers: Help people understand their new electric machines by providing information about maintenance, charging, and other essential aspects.

The U.S. EV market is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by innovation, government policies, and consumer demand. On track to sell over 1 million EVs, we are on our way to a greener future. By embracing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, the future of electric transportation in the United States is bright. So, let’s keep this conversation going, spread the word, and let’s hit 2 million EVs sold in 2024! 🤝

Go electric ✌️
