Here are some things you should know about buying a used EV from an online seller:

1. Do your research and learn as much as you can about the specific EV you’re interested in. This includes reading reviews, comparing prices, and learning about the different features and benefits of each model.

2. It’s important to buy from a reputable seller, check their feedback / reviews for any prior transactions if possible.

3. Be sure to look at as many pictures as you can, check out videos- even request a FaceTime or walk-around video. *If you are able to view the vehicle, bring someone with you and meet in the daylight at a public place.

4. Get the vehicle inspected. Once you’ve found a vehicle, it’s a very good idea to get the vehicle inspected before you buy it. This will help to ensure that the vehicle is in good condition and that there are no hidden problems.

5. Be prepared to negotiate and be willing to compromise. The seller may be willing to negotiate the price of the vehicle.

6. Pay for the vehicle. There are a variety of ways that you can pay for the vehicle, such as cash, check, or credit card. Paying with a credit card gives you some protection in case there are any problems with the car.

7. Arrange for shipping. If the vehicle is not located near you, you’ll need to arrange for shipping. There are a variety of companies that offer shipping services for EVs.

8. Be sure to check the title and make sure the VIN on the vehicle matches the VIN on the title.  Be sure the title is clean.

9. Transfer ownership. Once you’ve received the vehicle, you’ll need to transfer ownership to your name. This can be done by signing the title over to you and providing you with the registration information.

10. Get everything in writing. Get a written agreement from the seller that includes the price of the vehicle and the terms of payment and shipping arrangements.

Buying a used EV online can be a convenient way to shop, but you have to do your research and be extra careful when buying from an online seller. Have fun in your new EV!
