Benefits of a Level 2, 240-volt home charging system:

  • Faster charging times: Level 2 chargers provide a much faster charge than standard 120-volt outlets.
  • Convenience: Level 2 chargers can be installed in your garage or driveway, making it easy to charge your EV at home.
  • Cost savings: Level 2 chargers can save you money on your energy bills because they use less electricity than standard 120-volt outlets.
  • Increased resale value: Think of where the future of is headed and the value it adds to your resale.
  • Reliability: You can ensure it’s always working, unlike the unpredictability of some public stations.

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Cost of installation: Level 2 chargers can range from a few hundred dollars to over $1K.
  • The amperage of the charger: The amperage of the charger determines how fast your EV will charge. Most EVs can charge at up to 40 amps.
  • The plug type: The type of plug on the charger must match the type of outlet in your garage or driveway.

Here are some of the most common incentives:

  • Tax credits: The federal government offers a tax credit of up to $300 for installing a Level 2 home charging system.
  • Rebates: Many utility companies offer rebates for installing a Level 2 home charging system.
  • Grants: Some states and local governments offer grants for installing a Level 2 home charging system.
  • EV companies sometimes offer credit toward a unit/installation.

Here are some popular companies you can check out:
