Be Aware that you will lose range in the cold weather. DO NOT be surprised! Lower battery performance and greater energy consumption seriously affect your range.

In fact, a study found on newsroomAAA, your range could be cut by about 41% when using your HVAC in under w20 degree weather.

In the cold, your battery takes longer to charge, takes more energy to use and is also affected by driving habits. Additionally, regenerative braking (which recovers energy during deceleration) isn’t as effective.

Here Are 5 Helpful Tips:

1. Keep plugged in while warming the vehicle, also set up pre-conditioning if possible to get battery ready to accept charge.

2. Keep the heat low and utilize heated seats and heated steering wheel if possible.

3. Adjust to a mode that maximizes battery usage, such as ECO mode

4. Keep tires inflated to the manufacturer specs. (Use winter tires or snow chains if possible).

5. Best to set navigation and map out your route for charging stops along the way

Go electric ✌🏼
