The way we buy cars is changing, and the EV market is leading the way. Some manufacturers are into direct sales, bypassing traditional dealer franchises. 🚗

There are pros and cons to both approaches and one that’s mixed.

🏢 Dealerships offer convenience and the ability to test drive vehicles in person, but could also add extra costs.

💻 Direct sales can be more efficient and lead to lower prices, but they may not offer the same level of customer service.

🤝 Another example is the Amazon/Hyundai partnership “hybrid” approach -by simultaneously offering the convenience of online sales and the personal dealership participation. The collab shows how the future of car sales might evolve. By partnering with Amazon, Hyundai can provide a simple online car-buying experience. You pay for your vehicle on Amazon, and the dealership completes the process.

The near future might be that combo of both convenience & customer service simultaneously. They whole vehicle experience is shifting, but change doesn’t happen overnight.

What do you think the future holds for EV sales?

  • A mix of direct and dealer sales: 🤝 The hybrid approach.
  • Direct sales: 💯 This is possible if buyers are willing to give up the in-person experience.
  • Dealerships: 👨🏼‍🦳 Dealerships still offer advantages, like post- sale services.

The future of EV sales might be a mix of both direct and dealer sales as the landscape continues to shift. 🤝

Go electric! ✌️
