Forget The iPhone 15- Who Is Buying These?

NIO PHONE :

The NIO PHONE is a high-end smartphone developed by NIO, a Chinese EV manufacturer.

It is to be used with NIO’s EVs, and offers  features that are integrated with the car, like:

  • Vehicle control: Used to control the car’s locks, climate control and other functions, even from a distance.
  • Navigation: Used to plan and start navigation routes, which will then be automatically transferred to the car’s infotainment system when you get in.
  • Entertainment: Used to stream music, videos, and other content to the car’s infotainment system.

In addition to these features, the NIO PHONE is also a high-end smartphone with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a 6.81-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple-lens rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor.

The NIO Phone is currently only available in China, but NIO has said that it plans to launch the phone in other markets in the future.

POLESTAR PHONE:

Launching with the Polestar 4- a smartphone to mate to the car for a seamless transition. Their goal is not to disrupt the phone industry, just provide a device that complements their EV.

Polestar’s CEO Thomas Ingenlath said the smartphone will be a “premium” device and will be tightly integrated with Polestar’s cars to allow for a seamless experience for users. You’ll be able to use the app to control the car’s locks, climate control, and other functions.

Ingenlath said that launching a smartphone will also allow Polestar to bundle software, apps, services, and features such as remotely controlling or turning on the car with a phone. This could also help carmakers learn more about their customers’ habits.

Would you consider either of these options?  What about a Tesla Phone??
