Turquoise Lights For Self-Driving Mode

Check this out!  Mercedes-Benz is currently working on implementing turquoise lights to indicate when their vehicles are in self-driving mode. The company has received approval in California and Nevada, to use turquoise-colored lights in the front and rear to signify when their Drive Pilot system is engaged.

“Mercedes-Benz’s Drive Pilot system is the first of its kind to be certified as SAE Level 3, allowing drivers to take their eyes off the road and even engage in other activities while the car is in self-driving mode. The blue lights are intended to provide a clear visual signal to other drivers, pedestrians, and law enforcement that the vehicle is operating autonomously”.

The company is working to standardize the use of blue lights for self-driving vehicles and hopes to expand the use of this feature to other states and countries in the future.

I think this is brilliant and hope to see it widely adopted.

Go electric  ✌️
